WHEN: Saturday, November 4, 2023, 9:00 AM 2:00 PM
WHERE: Festival Beach Food Forest
COST: Free
Join us at the Festival Beach Food Forest for an education workday to learn fungi role in the forest ecosystem and a family friendly Mini-Mushroom Meditation in the Fairy Garden under the Fig Trees.
In this meditation we will root down and center ourselves in the magic of myco-community exploration as educator Shaman Jesus as he leads everyone through a healing meditation with fairy chimes and soothing sound therapies.
Afterwards and throughout the day, family and friends will support the space with a mushroom stomp event to create a community mushroom fairy garden! Children are welcome to wear their fairy wings as we break up mushroom blocks provided by Central Texas Mycological Society through the recycling program. We will bring plenty of blocks to recycle and if there are extras you can take them home.
9am-12pm - Educational Workday - Seeding and Planting Pollinators
Day will begin with an introduction to regenerative stewardship and our forest. Throughout the morning work session participants will have the opportunity to learn about tree care, pollinator planting, soil health, fungal support, and medicinal plants. Along with forest maintenance and care, we will be planting 100+ pollinator plants throughout the forest.
12:00pm - 2:00pm Picnic in the Pecan Circle
Then, we will celebrate our progress and planting for the day with live music, a community meal, and family friendly activities in the pecan circle.

- Make your own wildflower seed balls.
- Guided harvesting of seasonal plants.
