Psychedelia is an hour-long documentary film about the history of therapeutic research into psychoactive substances. The film chronicles psychoactives' use in controlled medical research studies prior to the cultural upheaval of the 1960s, at a time when psychoactive medicines, including native North American mushroom species, were widely regarded as among the most promising advancements in the discipline of psychiatry. NAMA has secured the rights for this private showing exclusively to our members. After the show, we will have the pleasure of a talk-back with writer and director Pat Murphy, also known for his work on the films Those About To Die (2006); Lost (2004); and Invasion of the Money Snatchers (2012).
