Join us for a guided mushroom walk to support fungal DNA research, where participants will learn to document specimens using iNaturalist and contribute to North America's mycological knowledge.
🍄 What You’ll Learn & Do:
Mushroom life cycle, anatomy, and role of fungi in the ecosystem.
How to photograph mushrooms for identification and scientific research and add observations to iNaturalist.
How to collect and prepare mushrooms for DNA extraction
Family friendly, kids welcomed!
What to bring: Bug spray (there are mosquitoes!), water. We highly recommend wearing long pants. No sandals or open-toed shoes!
Parking & Meeting Location: Circle Acres Preserve is located next to Roy G. Guerrero Park off of Grove Boulevard. We will meeting in the parking lot at 508 Grove Blvd.
