The stars at night are big and bright… deep in the heart of Texas! Join us at Waterloo Park for a UV Night Walk on this special astronomy night of Wild Wednesday.
Wild Wednesday is a family friendly, hands-on nature exploration, problem-solving exercises, outdoor activities, journaling, and other engaging activities!
In this special nighttime session of Wild Wednesdays, we will be helping you explore the Waterloo GreenWay in a new light, using UV Flashlights. Let’s discover how the bees see at a garden at night, filled with active critters, fruiting Funga, and blooming Flora.
Bring your own UV flashlight. You can purchase a UV flashlight for $20+ from us and pick-up at the event.
There will also be telescopes for a star party! Join us for storytime under the stars, test your senses in the dark, and learn all about the local critters that only come out at night.
Enjoy a variety of science, nature, and STEM programs designed to connect kids (ages 5-14+) to the outside world around them!
Attendees will receive a free copy of The Ecologist School Pocket Guide: Waterloo Park Edition, created in collaboration with Families in Nature to educate our community about the park’s ecosystems, history, and Central Texas biodiversity. The booklet contains 64 hands-on lessons and activities across 16 different branches of sciences to help visitors learn, play, and volunteer throughout the park and in their own communities.
