AUSTIN: Myco Cyco Bicycle Ride

WHEN: Sunday, October 8, 2023, 2-5 PM

WHERE: Central Austin. 6-MILE ROUTE GOOGLE MAP

COST: $0 (Sliding Scale Donation)

Join Central Texas Mycology and Odditree Society for the third annual bicycle ride through Central Austin to observe beautiful, heritage and sometimes odd oak trees and look for the choice, culinary mushroom chicken-of-the-woods (Laetiporus).

This event is for people that want to sharpen their ID skills and learn about foraging mushrooms. You do not need to be an expert or a member to participate- this is a learning opportunity and the more eyes we have the more we will discover together.

Liability waiver must be signed by all participants. Helmets are recommended and lights are required after dark. The bike ride is 6 miles one way and pace is easy-going and non-strenuous. We will be riding in the bike lanes near traffic and on the hike-and-bike-trail through urban parts of central Austin.

If you don't have a bicycle, there are docking stations and bike shares near the starting point.

We will be ending at Gourmands to have food and drinks. If you choose to stay, bring a light for cycling after dark.
