Join Central Texas Mycological Society at the Cedar Park Library for a free class where we will learn the basics of mycology and learn how the fungi kindom is entangled in all parts of our life. We will also cover some basics on mushroom identification, how fungi benefits our entire ecosystem, our health and more.

ABOUT THE SPEAKER

Angel Schatz is a forager, urban homesteader, and mycophile, and she serves as one of the lead organizers of the Central Texas Mycological Society. An inspiring and passionate educator, she strives to make mycology accessible to everyone, particularly those in Central Texas. She’s also a part of the Austin Organic Gardeners’ leadership team, harmonizing vegetable gardening and mushroom growing, particularly by using recycled mushroom blocks.
