UV Night Walk

Time: 6 - 9 p.m.

Where: Central Austin (Meet-up location to be emailed to ticket holders)

Join us for a nocturnal walk with mycologist and photographer Alan Rockefeller. We will explore an area in central Austin with UV flashlights to look for night pollinators, glowing plants, fungus, lichens and more. Get creative with glowing outfits to see in the UV light.

Bring a UV flashlight if you have one. We will have small ones available for everyone to use.

Tickets are limited and are $15 for members and $35 for non-member. Family friendly. Kids under 12 are always free.

ABOUT ALAN ROCKEFELLER

Alan Rockefeller is an Oakland based mycologist who spends half of his time in the field and half in the lab. In 2001 he began studying mushrooms, and is self taught. Each year since 2007 he has traveled to Mexico to collect mushrooms - he has now photographed more than 1,000 species of fungi from Mexico. Alan enjoys mushroom photography, DNA barcoding and microscopy. Alan regularly identifies mushrooms for several fungus fairs in Mexico and the USA in addition to identifying on websites including iNaturalist, Mushroom Observer and various Facebook groups.
